Club Trading
Attendances have been good and our net profit at this stage is ahead
of the March Quarter 2008. Aprils performance has lifted and profit
should increase this month. At March 31 our ratio of Current Assets
to Current Liabilities is 2:47:1 And of Current Assets to Total Liabilities
1:72:1 The uplift in trading figures are attributed to the strategies
of the Board and operation by Management.
Renovations
Renovations are a continuous operation in a club like ours, with our
65th Birthday Celebrations almost upon us, we are hoping to have the
changes in the décor of the Cocktail Bar completed within 3-4
weeks which will greatly improve this area.
Vale
We regret to announce the death of Phil Hamilton-Foster, Stalwart of
the Sub Branch and long time Memorial Club Member. Past Senior Vice
President of the Memorial Club, Geoff Davis passed away suddenly. Geoff
served on the Board for several years and was a great force in the Men's
Bowling Club, winning all Club Championship Events in the one year.
Anzac Day is regarded as our most important day of the year and is
strongly supported by the community, our Politician's and Shire Councillors.
This year was no exception. Scott Morrison doing the Kokoda Walk, sent
an apology and we were delighted to have Malcom Kerr MP, Kevin Schrieber,
George Capsis and Carol Provan, Sutherland Shire Councillors with us.
An estimated crowd of approx 4,000 people attended the Dawn Service
in Monro Park and showed great respect to our fallen hero's during the
service. Members were served 321 breakfasts and 327 lunches, two up
raised $714.20 for Legacy. A good day.
